Sandy is running for Henderson Justice Court

Meet Sandy DiGiacomo, a seasoned legal professional with an unwavering commitment to justice, integrity, and community service. As a candidate for Henderson Justice Court, Sandy brings over 28 years of experience as a practicing attorney, adeptly navigating both criminal and civil litigation realms.

 

Sandy's journey in law began with her impressive academic pursuits, graduating from Bishop Gorman High School in 1987 before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in 1991 and a Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 1995. Her legal career has spanned across multiple states, holding bar admissions in California, Ohio, and Nevada, and U.S. District Court admissions in California and Ohio.

 

With a passion for serving her community, Sandy has dedicated her career to upholding justice. In 1999, she began her career as a prosecutor at the Clark County District Attorney's Office, where she honed her skills in prosecuting serious crimes as a Chief Deputy District Attorney. Throughout her tenure, she handled a myriad of challenging cases, specializing in the Special Victims Unit, Major Violators Unit, and Domestic Violence Unit. Sandy's commitment to justice extended beyond the courtroom, as she served as a Search & Seizure Instructor and a liaison to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Southeast Area Command. 

 

In 2022, Sandy moved from the District Attorney’s Office to the Henderson City Attorney’s Office where she serves as a key figure in the Criminal Division and as a member of the Management Team.  She oversees both the Investigative Unit and the Victim Advocate Unit within the Criminal Division.  With a hands-on approach, she actively participates in both bench and jury trials, weekend bail hearings and the Municipal Court’s drug court, in addition to her supervisory duties.

 

Sandy's dedication to the legal profession and to victims’ rights is reflected in her extensive litigation experience. She has conducted over 85 jury trials, over 200 preliminary hearings, and over 100 bench trials, showcasing her proficiency in legal proceedings. Her expertise has been recognized by the legal community, as evidenced by her role as a Panel Chair for the State Bar of Nevada - Southern Nevada Disciplinary Panel.  Furthermore, Sandy serves as a volunteer pro bono attorney for the Children’s Attorneys Project, representing children subjected to abuse and neglect.

 

Sandy also practiced in California and Ohio before returning to Nevada, in which she handled cases involving civil litigation, family-based immigration and children’s rights.

 

In addition to her legal endeavors, Sandy is deeply involved in community and civic service. She is a graduate of Emerge Nevada and has been actively engaged with organizations such as the Junior League of Las Vegas and Las Vegas Prom Closet. Sandy's commitment to her community is further underscored by her endorsements from multiple law enforcement associations, including the Henderson Police Officers Association.

 

Sandy was born and raised in Las Vegas.  In 2002, Sandy made Henderson her home, where she raised her two children who are now in college.  She has a loving long-term partner who has two daughters of his own. Her passion for travel and reading enriches her personal life, adding depth to her character and perspective.

 

Sandy DiGiacomo's blend of legal expertise, community dedication, and personal integrity makes her an invaluable asset to the community she serves. As she continues her journey towards serving on the bench for the Henderson Justice Court, Sandy remains steadfast in her commitment to upholding justice and serving the needs of her constituents.
